Bodega Los Barrancos elaborates three wines within the provisional denomination (DOP) “Vino de Calidad de Granada, subzona Contraviesa-Alpujarraa”: “Cerro de la Retama” (Tempranillo and, depending on the year, different portions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) usually shows finesse and elegance with great depth. “Loma de Felipes” (Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and small amounts of Merlot) has a rustique and intensive style and is only produced in special years, whereas “Corral de Castro” (Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon) is an expressive terroir character, which is made every year. All wines mature between 12 and 16 months in barriques from French or American oak
The Tempranillo grape – regionally also known as »Tinto Varituo« – provides wines with elegant structure und fine fruit aromas.
